For Indian citizens, no visa is required to visit Bhutan. However, you need to obtain an Entry Permit at the border or airport, which is usually issued on the same day after document verification.
The Entry Permit is stamped on your passport or provided as a paper document at the Immigration Office in Bhutan. This allows you to travel within certain regions of the country.
Technically, Indian citizens do not require a visa. Instead, they are issued an Entry Permit on Arrival by showing a valid Indian Passport or Voter ID card at the entry point.
The Entry Permit is usually valid for up to 7 days initially and can be extended in Thimphu at the Department of Immigration if you plan to stay longer or travel to restricted areas.
Since no visa is required, you only need to carry your Indian Passport (valid for at least 6 months) or Voter ID card.
