Highlights of the Tour

Itinerary

After landing at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport, travellers will proceed with immigration and customs procedures. Non-Indian passport holders can obtain their Nepal visa on arrival at the designated visa counters. Alternatively, for added convenience, they may apply online before their trip. Once outside the airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and arrange a smooth transfer to your hotel. Your stay in Kathmandu begins with a wholesome vegetarian dinner, followed by an overnight rest at a carefully selected 3-star hotel. Visa for Non-Indian Passport Holders: Travellers holding non-Indian passports can obtain their Nepal entry visa on arrival at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport by paying a visa fee of approximately USD 35. For the China entry visa required for the Kailash Yatra, we must submit your original passport along with the application form, a recent colour photograph, and the applicable visa fee to the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu. The embassy generally requires a minimum of 3–4 working days to process and issue the visa. Therefore, all non-Indian travellers are advised to plan their arrival in Kathmandu with sufficient buffer time to accommodate the China visa processing period.

Today, you will not only stay near the sacred Lake Mansarovar but also witness your very first glimpse of the holy Mount Kailash during the drive from Saga. After breakfast at your guesthouse, begin your journey towards Mansarovar. Upon arrival, check in to your pre-arranged accommodation near the lake. Here, you can perform your spiritual rituals and take a holy bath at the lake’s edge. Please note that bathing directly in the lake is not allowed; however, sherpas can collect holy water in a bucket so you may perform the ritual safely while seated on the lakeshore. Spend the night at your lakeside accommodation, embracing the serene and divine atmosphere of Mansarovar.

  • Maximum Elevation: 4590 m

Afterward, enjoy lunch and prepare for your drive to Darchen, the base camp of Mount Kailash. During the journey, you will witness the majestic southern face of Mount Kailash, often described in Hindu scriptures as the ‘back’ of Lord Shiva. This stretch of the Kora can be completed either on foot or by hiring a horse. Considered the easier part of the Kailash trek, it covers a distance of approximately 13 km. Pilgrims who choose not to participate in the trek may remain in Darchen and wait for the group to return after completing this segment. Those continuing the trek will spend the night at a lodge in Dhirapuk, located very close to the majestic North Face of Mount Kailash.

From the top of the pass, you will enjoy a magnificent view of the sacred Gauri Kund. Spend some peaceful moments there before continuing your descent. A few kilometers ahead, you will reach a simple mud house where you will stop for the night. The accommodation is very basic, consisting of a common hall with limited beds and blankets.
